October Was FULL of FUN!

October was a BLAST! We took a great field trip to Bull Bottom Farms in Duck Hill. We took a hayride, slid down a super slide, and swung on a rope swing. We also all got to pick out a pumpkin to bring home with us!
We had our annual  PDS Hoe-Down and Bar-B-Que.  Mrs. Jackson taught us how to square dance, and we had a great time line dancing. Mrs. Burd's husband and sons served up some great bar-b-que.  The gym was packed with parents and grandparents, so we'll chalk it up as a huge success!
We have also really enjoyed having the athletes from Delta State reading to us each Friday. We've met some baseball, soccer, and softball players.
November is going to be busy, too.  Veteran's Day Chapel is always a very special time at PDS, and then we will have our own Thanksgiving feast on November 20.

Bugs, Bugs, Bugs!

This weeknight we have been learning all about insects! We found out that they all have three body parts and six legs. There are also over 1,000,000 insects in the world! I bet you thought there were only mosquitoes! We also four out that a spider is NOT an insect, and they are just as scared of us as we are of them!
We did lots of fun art projects, too! We made a beehive with our fingerprints, and we painted paper plates to make ladybugs! After we finished painting the body and the wings, Mrs. Jones added the spots. Their spots have to match exactly on each wing! Then we played a game. She gave us one of our wings, and we had to find the other one without looking at our names! It was not as easy as we thought it would never, but it was fun.  Next week we will learn more about these creatures and how they can help and hurt!

Easter Excitement!!!

We have had a lot going on this week in 5K! We have been getting ready for our Easter Bonnet Parade and the Easter Egg Hunt. We helped decorate a really HUGE egg as part of the decorations in the gym! We used colored do a dot markers and "dotted" to our hearts' content! Our egg was beautiful!!! We brought our bonnets and baskets for the Easter Bonnet Parade and egg hunt.  We paraded and hunted and had a blast! Happy Friday to us!👒

100 DAYS SMARTER!👍

Today we celebrated our 100th Day of School! We brought in 100 objects to count. We had tootsie rolls, Cheerios, smarties, pennies, beads, paper clips, and Q-tips! We wrote our numbers to 100, and drew pictures of things we would like to have 100 of. We wanted 100 dollars, ice cream cones, dresses, tiaras, gum balls, cars, and pizzas. We didn't want 100 snakes, skunks, or bugs! Then we got to put 100 stickers in a book, with 10 on each page! I would say we are definitely 100 DAYS SMARTER!

December! Busy! Busy! Busy!

December was a very busy month in Kindergarten! We visited the animal shelter and delivered food and toys to all the animals. We got to pet a Golden Retriever and a kitten.
Mrs. Meigs took us to sing at Long Term Care. We had a great time visiting with the residents and entertaining them with some Christmas carols.
We had a great Christmas program. The 6th grade worked really hard, and did a fantastic job.
We also had a great time with all the Christmas art projects. Mrs. Jones sure painted our hands a lot!
Finally the day of Christmas chapel and the Christmas party arrived! Mr. Clint Wood told a wonderful Christmas story, and lots of children played the piano. The party was a huge success! We ate, made a Christmas craft, and danced! After all that, we went home for our 2 week vacation! We earned it after that busy month!
