This week in 5K we will be working on several art projects. Today we let Mrs. Jones paint our hands and we are going to make these handprints into Christmas trees. Watch for future posts to see our finished masterpieces!🎄

PDS 5K THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving from PDS 5K. We really enjoyed singing for our guests at our Thanksgiving Feast. We were glad that our families could join us and celebrate this special time of the year. The chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, green beans, and rolls were a hit! We hope everyone had a great time!

STAR STUDENT

Lucy Jennings is our STAR STUDENT this week. Lucy's parents are Jason and Laxey, and she has a brother, Rimmer, who is in the first grade at PDS. Lucy loves the beach, spaghetti, and the color pink. She is a good gymnast and her favorite animal is a horse. She likes her smile and loves her family! 

Fall Hunting!

This afternoon we went outside and collected Fall leaves and acorns. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed our extra time outside. Happy Fall, Y'all!🍁🍂

STAR STUDENT

William Jeffreys is our latest STAR STUDENT. His parents are Todd and Mary Elizabeth, and he has twin siblings, Wrigjt and Margaret. His favorite foods are tacos and hamburgers, and his 3 favorite colors are orange, red, and yellow. He loves playing with Legos, and his favorite animal is a dog. He says that he is good at football, basketball, and soccer, and he loves Chicago and Chuck E. Cheese. The things he likes about himself are his red hair and his good memory.

Cedar Hills Pumpkin Farm

We had a great field trip Wednesday. We took our Fall field trip to Cedar Hills pumpkin farm near Senatobia. It was a beautiful, though sometimes windy, fall day! It was the perfect day, since we have been talking about Fall weather. Everyone had a great time!

This week's STAR STUDENT!👸

Avery Carter has been our STAR STUDENT for the last 2 weeks. Her mom and dad are Will and Cathy, and she has a little brother, Harrison. Avery Carter's favorite food is shells and cheese, and her favorite color is pink. She says that hippos are her favorite animal and she wants to be a princess when she grows up.

A visit from the Cleveland Fire Department

This week we talked about staying safe in lots of different situations. We had a fire drill one morning, and a visit from some of the firemen from the Cleveland Fire Department. We learned a lot and we're glad they came. 

Torn Paper Pumpkins!

This week we got to tear paper on purpose! We made torn paper pumpkins for our Fall door! Here we are tearing it up, and the finished product.

A visit from Officer Tribble

The 5K classes were treated to a very special guest today. Judd's dad visited our classes today. He talked to us about his job as a policeman in Cleveland. He talked about gun safety, and showed his handcuffs! Thanks, Officer Tribble!

Helpful Grandparents!

Fall is in the air!

Today we spent part of our morning talking about the change in the weather, and Fall. Then we painted Fall leaves for the tree on our bulletin board in the hall. Welcome Fall!

iPad Heaven!

We have had a blast working with the school's new iPads. We use them during center time, one or two times a week! 

STAR STUDENT

This week our STAR STUDENT is Chandler Harris. Her parents are Jim and Stacie. Her favorite foods are spaghetti, pizza, ice cream, apples. And popcorn. Her favorite place is the beach and her favorite animal is a chameleon!

Centers!

We had a great first week with our moms helping in centers. They did a great job, and the children loved the help! Thanks moms!

Centers!

Today was our first day in centers with a mom helping us! We had a lot fun and Mrs. Cathy did a great job. She helped us paint our apples that we hung from the ceiling when they were dry. Thanks to all of our moms who are going to come and help!

SHAPES!

We have learned a lot about shapes this week. We can read our shape words and we even made a Shape Frog! Here we are hard at work!

STAR STUDENT

William Garrett is out first STAR STUDENT this year. His parents are Troy and Mitzi and he has a little brother, Eli. William likes macaroni and cheese and pizza. His favorite color is blue and he loves tractors and golfing! He says that his favorite animal is a dog.

All About Me! We spent the first full week in 5K learning all about ourselves. We talked about how we are all different, and how God loves us all! We finished up the week with our "I Am Special" crowns! It's been a great week! Next week we will do lots of fun things as we learn to "read" our color words!

Our first chapel of the new year was the perfect end to a great 2 days!
